PepBoys won't align my car

So I got up mad early today to get to pepboys to get my hatch aligned. After going through all the crap, they ask me if my car is lowered, and I say yes, 2 1/4 inches. And then then tell me my car is too low and that they can't do it. Are they feeding me a bunch of bull or are they telling me the truth? Now I have don't know where the hell to take my car.

Re: PepBoys won't align my car

its too low.you need a adjustable camber kit.remember that if you lowere your car and have some 13" steels on it that it will be slammed even more than if your car had some 15 with 50 series tires on it.the rear can be done with some washers.they didnt bullshit you, they can do it but it wont fix it.i think they are like 140 bucks or some crap.

Re: PepBoys won't align my car

I've had no problem getting my car aligned, however I'm only lowered 1.5" with 17" rims.

Re: PepBoys won't align my car

I get my car aligned at Tires Plus or Butler Tires. I go to strictly tire shops. I know Tires Plus is a chain, but I don't know about Butler.

Re: PepBoys won't align my car

I too only go to tire shops, I forgot to mention that. I almost always go to Les Schwab for any tire needs (Since Josh doesn't work for Perfection anymore) and they always have done a good job for me.

Re: PepBoys won't align my car

Tires Plus told me that if they could fit it on the rack, they can align it, but obviously without a camber kit, your camber will still be off. they can however set your toe and caster if it has problems to make the car a bit safer at higher speeds.

Toe and caster can and should always be adjusted. I replaced upper control arms but still had more negative camber than wanted like -3 so the toe and caster was set to compensate. It all depends on how much you want to spend and how fast you plan on driving and/or endangering the lives of you or others around you.
