A/c

Can someone tell me where the a/c evaporator drain hose is located on my 98 grand cherokee

i have a swimming pool on my passenger floor board and can't find the drain hose to the evaporator to see if its clogged.

or....could it be something else?

NOTE: My reply applies to a Cherokee, not a Grand Cherokee. I noticed afterward that you actually indicated a Grand. There is a separate forum for Grand Cherokee and, if this doesn't help, you might have better luck over there.

I'm assuming your 98 is the same as my 99 since there were very few changes. If you open the hood (sorry :-), best to be explicit), as you face the car look down and to the left. You'll probably see the black AC cannister. Straight down from there you'll see a frame member. Sticking out of the firewall, just above that frame member, is the drain. It's a little rubber hose about 2-3 inches long. It can be easily removed although it's a little tough to reach into the space. You might be able to put a shop vac on it and remove the blockage. I tried this, with success, although it didn't resolve my AC problems. BTW, the drain actually drains onto that frame member. Not that it matters, it will just help you locate it.
