1996 camry: check engine warning light
I have 1996 Camry. It has 105,000 miles. "Check Engine" light is on.
What does it mean? Sometimes when it it idling the engine stops. IT happened 3 to 4 times (but never in running). Any clues? |

Re: 1996 camry: check engine warning light
you need to pull the codes on it with a scantool and then go from there it means that there is malfunction with one of the sensors

algol,
If you have Autozone in your area they will check the code(s) for you for free. |

Re: 1996 camry: check engine warning light
It's possible that your problem could be caused by either a faulty O2 sensor, converter, or throttle position sensor. As stated before, the only way you can get an accurate diagnosis is with the use of an OBD-II scan tool to retreive the diagnostic codes from the ECM.
