Grand Cherokee Door pin Removal
I have a 1996 Grand Cherokee with bad door pins. The problem is the pins have heads on both ends. The other pins I have done have only one Head on the pin.Does this mean I have to grind one end to remove?
Thanks |

Re: Grand Cherokee Door pin Removal
nope.go to dealer or good bodyshop, and get hinge kit.unbolt door and tap old pins out with steel pin punch.support door from bottom with floor jack.or you can construct an easel, kinda like what artists use to hold there paintings while the paint.what happens is over time the hinges wear out the pin is steel and the bushings are brass the brass is the softer of the 2 and wears out first .the bushings are in the hinge bracket bolted tothe door its easier to replace bracket the pin while come out with little effort..bodyshop wants $160.00 to both sides.i did mine myself
