stereo install questions

anything I should learn or get to find out what I need to install a better stereo in my97 tahoe? Just do not know what speakers to get, what wiring I need, or anything else to make this install of better speakers, amps, and radio to work.

If you tahoe has the nicer factory radio in it thats bad because you have to re wire the whole thing from the factory amp i dunno where it is located in you suv but if you dont than go to walmart and buy the Scosche Dash Kit and the Model -GDMA wire harness Connect the Power ant wire to the amp wire on you new head deck even if you dont have one because if it has the factory amp it wont work with out it the just match the wires that will make it sound a little better if you get a sony deck get sony speakers if you get pioneer then get pioneer speakers ect....
