'93 GP starting problem

I have a 1993 Grand Prix with a 3.1. I recently had a starting problem which lead to a battery replacement and within a fews days a starter replacement. While replacing the starter I checked the fuses and noticed that one of the ignition fuses was blown. I replaced the fuse and finished up the starter install.

The big problem now is that the car will not start. All I can get it to do is turn over very slowly a few times and then nothing. I've checked the battery cables and they're in good shape and well grounded. The starter connections are tight. I've had the battery tested and it's at full charge. I've had the starter tested also and it's fine. Today I even replaced the crank position sensor because I've read that that could be a cause of the problem but I still can't get it to start. I can hear the fuel pump kick in and it's getting good fuel pressure so it's not a fuel delivery problem. I tried to check for a spark but it's not turning over fast enough to create one. I haven't ever seen the ses light so I'm assuming that it's not a major sensor or computer problem. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?

I'm at my wits end with this situation.

The problem has been solved.

After closer inspection I found out that the positive battery cable was in really bad shape. The previous owner replaced the negative but left the positive cable to rot.

I just replaced it and I'm having no problem starting.

I am currently having almost the same problem you WERE having with yours. I have a 91 GPSE with a 3.1. I have noticed, that my postive battery wite is shorting out everything electrical in my car as of now, I jiggle it a little and everything flashes. Maybe I should just replace that before I go and put a new battery and starter in my car?

Does it start after you jiggle the cable? If it does start then either the cable has a break in it somewhere, it has a loose connection at the starter or the terminal bolt is lose or stripped and not keeping a steady connection. Look into that before you consider replacing the battery.
