Too many stupid drivers too d@mn early in the morning

alright...i wake up at 8 this morning after going to bed at 3 the night before so i'm obviously pretty tired. i go up to the park where i'm supposed to have baseball practice at to find that both good fields were being used. i got there about half an hour early so i head down to the gas station a few miles away to call my coach and see what the deal is...no problem.

so i'm coming back, me and 2 of the other 3 cars on the road are going 40, including the guy right next to me. so i come up on a guy doing 35, don't really think much of it, just let off the gas a little bit and wait til the guy next to me goes by. i'm not very close to the guy in front of me. so we're coming up to a light, the guy going 35 is maybe 2 car lenghs from the white line. the light turns yellow. this guy slams on his fucking brakes. i still have a guy next to me so i pretty much have two choices: a) slam on breaks or b) swerve into oncoming traffic around this guy. i figured option b probably wasn't the greatest idea in the world, so i slam on the breaks and chirp my tires a lil bit. this guy looks back at me like i'm a fucking retard. all this while the light is still yellow. i was stopped for at least 5 seconds behind this guy before the light actually turned red.

by this time i'm pretty pissed, but i just calmly go around this guy after the light turns green and go back to the park. the way this park is set up, there's a pool with a parking lot just inside the entrance and you go down a hill after that to the baseball fields. the road is pretty narrow and there's a wood fence about 3 ft. from the road on either side. so i'm going between 10-15 because there's a swim meet going on and i don't really feel like hitting anybody...same can't be said for everyone else unfortunately. i'm driving past the exit of this parking lot and there's 3 SUV's parked next to eachother on the grass, so anybody leaving is gonna have a tough time seeing if anybody is coming. so i guess instead of looking you should just go flying out at 20 mph and hope nobody is coming like this guy in the saturn did. he comes flying out, sees me and slams on the brakes so he's half way into the road and i have to swerve off the damn road and miss the fence by 6".

by this time i'm extremely pissed so i proceed to yell several long combinations of 4 letter words until i get to the baseball field.

sorry about the long read...the idiocy of some people just amazes me/pisses me off and this seemed like it was worth sharing.

I hate days like that. I'm convinced that all of the asshole drivers must meet secretly to determine specific dates on which to emerge en masse....

and the amazing part is they all seem to gang up on you in one 5 minute window...scares me sometimes.

This sounds as if it was Saturday am.
Week ends have much worse driving than week days. People are either drunk or out shopping/running errands, instead of commuting.
Whenever people are driving outside of the week day commute, they seem to drive slower and their brains stop working.

I've stopped caring how people drive. I've decided if they really want to hit my car (roughly 17.5' long, just under 6' wide and about 5000lbs) they can go right ahead. They'll need the airbag not me.

I just use my horn alot, that seems to work great. Just drive as always, and use the horn when people do something stupid.

Something a co-worker of mine used to do is carry around a bunch of those little books that they give you when you're studying to get your driver's license, you know, with the rules of the road in every driving situation. She memorized the pages, so whenever somebody got mad at her for using her horn or whatever, she'd turn to the correct page, give them the book and tell them where to go.

It's was funny to watch her do it, and the books were free so she'd do it all the time. I did it for a while myself, but then couldn't be bothered to go get the books anymore.

I know how you feel. If they hit me great if they dont even better. If they hit me that's fine cause i will just get new stuff. There isnt a spot on the car that isn't scratched or dinged. Guess thats what happens having a little jap car around horses and idiots.

AHHHH!!! HAPPENED AGAIN!!!

soccer mom in Ford Deathmobile SUV turns out in front of me AFTER looking at me. i then honk and she tries to floor it only to spin her tires and make me have to hit the brakes even harder. and then the old people that pull out and just fuckin stop in the middle of the road blocking both lanes of traffic.

you guys are lucky...my car is somewhere around 2500 lbs...if anything hits me i'm pretty much screwed (although it is a toyota so i have a chance)

Every one has had there share of assholes to deal with.Unfortunalty my husband is starting to become one of them.He tailgates all the time and doesn't pay attention when he is driving. He says if you can't beet then join them. So any time we go anywere I make sure we take my truck so he isn't driving, it is easier then trying to get him to be a better driver.He recently recked his 92 torus and got a 83 bronko 2 I am hopeing having to get a older vehicle will make him wake up.

This thread makes me think of a certain Asian man that used to drive around here in Anchorage and honk his horn like there was an emergency and so people would get out of his way very quickly thinking something was wrong... well he'd speed on by and smile and wave and keep doing it until he reached his destination. It was kind of funny actually, but then again, i wasn't the one who was driving so of course i found it entertaining.
