performance silverado

i think somthing like this has already been done by Chevy, but what the heck. what if Chevy took a Corvette Z-06 engine and put it in a Silverado? it would be Chevy's answer to Ford's F-150 SVT Lightning and Dodge's Ram SRT-10. the Chevy Silverado Z-06 would be Chevy's performance pickup. but i think somthing like this has been done before, hasnt it?

Kinda, the Typhoon and the Syclone were the performance pick-ups way before eny of the other automakers thought of it.
As for the Lightning and the SRT-10, Chevys answer (now and for the future) is the SS. The SS pick-ups are sporty trucks, the Lightning and the SRT-10 are pretty much worthless as far as a truck goes but rather serious performance vehicles (that just happen to be trucks). The SS only comes in an ext. cab and really isn't far from stock. As for the future, the rumor is an SS that is a short box, regular cab, suspension that isn't even close to stock, 6 speed (T-56 or T-6) and a severly tweaked 6.0L engine. The 6.0 is still a Gen III design (same layout as the LS1/LS6) and it has huge performance potential. GM let a magazine (think it was Hot Rod, not sure) drive one of the prototypes, but the magazine could not publish any hard performance or power numbers at all, because GM kinda wants it to be a surprise when it's finally dropped on the public. All the magazine could say was that it FELT like it could run low 13 seconds easily. IMO, I'm not seeing GM letting the sport truck market pass them by like it is now.
