Engine Tapping
I also have A 94 j-30 model and what happened to mine was when it was raining water got in the motor and the motor lock it self well I had to take off all the sparkplugs and try to turn it on I did put the was a tapping in the engine and I had to get a used piston rod because water got in the gas and mix with water so the piston came up and well since water can't be depress like air so it causes the piston rod to be weak and bend. but on yours check if you haven't run it without oil or mabye the gasket has like a tear in it and water was getting in the piston lets say overnite in the morining you true in on then it might cause that also when they put oil it the car you not to start it right away you just turn the key and it it try to start turn it off do it for a couple time then trun the car on complete
