Question Trouble adjusting clutch? A little Help?

I have an older model nissan. '91 hard body truck 4 cyl. The clutch needed adjusting. So I tried my hand at it. The problems I described prompted one "expert" to recommend, "Maybe I should bleed the line from the clutch master c. to the slave valve." After telling me how simple it was to do this, I thanked him for his advice and immediately began to follow his instructions.

It took two people. One to pump the clutch pedal three times and hold it in and the second to open the release valve on the clutch slave valve and let the fluid out. Then close the release valve and then pump the clutch again until the line is full and repeat the process until certain any air that might be in the line has been bled out.

Fine. Simple. One problem.

The clutch never pumped back up. I have after trying, no pressure in the clutch pedal. Yet after disconnecting the slave valve to see if pumping the clutch pedal actually did anything, and seeing that indeed, fluid runs out every time I pump the pedal, and reconnecting the slave valve and continuing to pump away, 'have no pressure in the clutch pedal. Not since initially opening the release valve on the slave valve.

Is there some secret to getting fluid from the master clutch c. to the slave valve?

I even installed a brand new master c. and a new slave valve since both were old. I read, I was supposed to replace both at the same time.

The problem in a nut shell is, there is not enough fluid getting to the slave valve for the clutch to be used.
