Here it is with the weathering finally done.
After a weekend of time trials this baby got really salty. The salt was a mix of white glue, water, baking soda. I applied it with a toothbrush, by flicking the bristles. The effect is a little heavier than I would of liked, but the 'salt' became whiter and heavier as the glue dried. OOPS. Thanks to all who followed and commented on the buildup in the progress thread HERE. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Finished - 32 Ford Salt Flats Racer
Salty! A very nice build... how about a little bit of salt flat as a base for it, and an old style pickup to service it?
I think the salt build up looks fine, more like it's just finished a pass. It's certainly very realistic looking.

Re: Finished - 32 Ford Salt Flats Racer
I like it....the salt does look like it has sprayed off the tires. Very convincing.

Re: Finished - 32 Ford Salt Flats Racer
That looks great. It should surve as a warning to people who want to go drive on the flats... don't do it! Your food won't taste right for weeks, apparently!
Great job. I don't know if I agree about it being too heavy... that reference pic you showed wasn't too different from that.

Re: Finished - 32 Ford Salt Flats Racer
Good looking build. Engine looks really good in the pics. Makes me want a margarita to go with that salt.

Looks great Matt! The salt looks real good. Perhaps you have some fries to go with it?
