Transmission Problem?

Hi, I am new here. I have a 95' talon with a 2.0, no turbo, automatic tranny. Got a tranny question, Car starts fine, engine idle is good but as soon as I move to either reverse, forward, or any low gears the car lurchs forward and stalls. I reved the engine to 1200 rpm's and still does the same thing. Its like the torque convertor is not absorbing the surge. Could it be bad or are there any electrical components that could be checked. I tried pulling codes and there was nothing stored in the computer. Thanks for any help.
