i have a 96 grand am GT
first how do you get the rear deck cover off to get at the 6X9's also how would i go about wireing the speakers if the "+" & "-" is a plug in thing?would i just cut that plug in off and wire it like a regular speaker? |

Welcome to af , theres gonna be vinyl o shaped plugs that hold the plastic shroud around the rear speaker shelf , these plugs also release the cover over the 6x9's as well , the 6x9's have 3 clips you press in towards the speaker and pull it straight up then test the wire connections with a 12volt tester light to see which one is positive and negative , theres 2 sets of these on each speaker low ohms and high ohms.

assuming your seat doesn't fold down...
a manuel i have says to unfasten the bolts on the front of the seat. when these are off, the whole bottom portion of the seat should be able to be removed. Next, removed the anchor bolts from the bottom of the seat back, and pull upward & out to remove the back of the seat. Everything else should be self explanitory. |

I apologize i had a brain fart pardon me (keep thinking sunfires, cavs and 99+grand ams with the folding seats sorry. Your manual is right 100%
