Talking In Progress Nismo V35 Skyline Coupe 350GT

Hey everyone,
After viewing some of your comments and some long thinking, I have finally chose to build Fujimi’s Nismo V35 Skyline Coupe 350GT as my last kit for a while since I am starting my freshmen year at PSU (Go Nittany Lions!!!) in the fall.
Ever since the debut of the Infiniti G35 Coupe (US version), I have fell in love with it. I love the smooth curves of the body and the beautiful purrr that it gives out on the road. In my opinion, I think it’s better than the Nissan Z in my opinion. (Please don’t hate me for saying that) But when I found out that the G35 Coupe carried on the legacy of the Nissan Skyline, the decision was obvious and I chose to buy this Fujimi kit. However this is my Fujimi kit. It was more expensive than I thought it would be. It’s more expensive than my Tamiya kits that I am use to. Hopefully it will measure up to Tamiya accurate and precise kits.
So please join me as I journey to the end….j/k, I’m sure I’ll find time to model build when there are no parties.

Here’s what I have to work with.

Errr…Even before I opened the kit, I noticed a scratch on the top spoke of this stunning and exquisite set of LMGT4’s. But I might spray them later on depending on the color of the body which I decide to go with.

And here are just pictures of test fittings to help me plan out what I am going to do.
As you can see, I drew in where I wanted to cut and scratch build an aero bonnet.

Here some pictures after I cut the vent. I then used pieces of styrene sheets the build the wall of the vent.

Then I attempted to putty up the vent.(This is actually the first time I used epoxy putty. It’s made by a brand named Milliput if you have ever heard of it.)

So while that dries, I again drew out how I wanted the front fascia to look like. What do you think about this design. I made it simple I thought it fit the simplistic yet striking design of the V35 Skyline.

Please bear with me throughout the progress of this kit. This is really the first time I’ve attempted to customize my kit at such a level with what I have planned. I don’t have an airbrush and I am still experimenting, so don't YELL if I’m slow.

So give me your two cents. All comments are welcomed.
Stay tuned for more to come….

~I plan to build an intercooler to place behind the front fascia, and build a more aggressive rear bumper. I might also customize the side skirts. I'm debating whether or not they fit the look of body kit later. And to top it off, nice cross drilled brembo brakes behind those 18" inches rims.

Nice job. Just what you need to make the new Skyline look more aggresive. The stock one looks too soft compared to the 32/33/34 generations. What else do you have planned for it?

I am planing to add an intercooler, cross drilled brembo brakes, maybe side skirts and a more aggressive rear. I am still debating on the color scheme. I like the skyline blue with maybe silver stripes but I am not sure. Still alot to do before I get to paint. Let me know what you suggest guys. I want the R34 presence to somewhat come through.

And thanks for your comments guys. I should be able to update tonight or tomorrow morning.

Hmmmm...I never used CF decals before. Isn't it expensive? Let me know if someone has some to spare me or to sell for a good price.

What design do you have in mind for a front bumper Vric?
