Question Lookin Around For 5.0's?

Hey everybody i just wanted to know..right now im going to buy a 1992 5.0 LX Bone Stock. Its badass. But i just wanted to ask you guys a few questions. Is there a difference between the 1992 5.0 and the 1993 5.0? I have wanted this car for awhile and it just seems hard to find a stock one..it seems like everyone wants to get rid of souped up stangs..Why is that? Idk but i really just want someones opinion..o yea and my freind is already talkin shit.. He has a 1992 Camaro Rs..o yea he just got smoked by a VW bug TURBO that thing whooped his ass on the freeway..can i beat either of them? Or how about a 1996 Integra Ls? both are stock but the turbo idk.. also who knows what a bone stock 5.0 will top out at?

Thanks in advance...

Re: Lookin Around For 5.0's?

well, i can only asnwer some of your questions. The only main difference worth noting from the 92 to the 93 is that after 92 ford started using cast pistons instead of forged pistons.
People usually want to get rid of souped up stangs either becuase they are tired of puting money into it and need cash, or that they are done with the project car and want to start something else. Getting a bone stock LX is pretty sweet though, I always liked the lx's better than the GT's anyway, never liked the body kit that much since you can't see the tailpipes and it add weight.
AS to what a bone stock 5.0 will top out at, no idea. I think the spedometer only goes up to 140, and I am sure it could go faster than that. I went over that in a car that had some mods in it but he wasn't even in 5th gear. I don't know how stable the car would be though since the Fox bodies suffer from not being rigid enough. If you get some chassis stiffeners like subframes, strut bars, it should help a lot.
Thats all I know from what little I know, hoped that help some.
