amp and sub question opinions...

hey guys,

i was thinking about buying an amp and a sub and so far this is what i got.....I want to get a 10'' type R alpine sub and was undecided about getting either a MRD-M501 alpine or an MRD-M301 alpine amp. They are digital amps and are from what i've heard.....the m501 is far more powerful, but i'm unsure if it's too much, or if the 301 is too little. I also bought a custom box that is going to go in the back of the explorer and is going to fit into the map compartment of the explorer in the back of the truck. The reason i went this route is because the explorer is a sport and it doesn't have very much room so I want to conserve as much room as possible. If either of these amps aren't good, please let me know and let me know of some suggestions. Thanks

Help me out please.

is the sub dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm? if it is dual 4 ohm then you can buy the mrd-m301 and run 350+ rms into it... if its a dual 2 ohm then run the 275rms from the mrd-m501 and then buy one more type R and run 550rms into the two subs.. right now i have a 12 type R and a mrd-m301.. the paper it comes with says 380rms so im running that into the one sub.. it sounds great... there are so many features on the amp it was worth the $180 i paid for it
