I have a 1995 Ford Contour, which has been in my ownership for three years. It ran very well when I first purchased it, however slowly but surely, things have started to occure at a somewhat regular interval.
My main concern at this point is, my air conditioner. I have a definite slow leak, so I must replace the freon every so often. However, recently, I have had fuse relay trouble, at least, that is how it appears. When I reset the ignition relay, it seemed to fix the problem. However, it no longer works. I have replaced the relay, no results. I turn the air to the on position, however there is no air, there is no compressor or fan actions, no anything. ONLY SOUTHERN SUMMER SIZZLE. I have wrestled too long with the a/c to have to fork out another chunk of change. I am looking at possible costs of repair, but a solution to the problem is what I desire the most. All help is appreciated. P.S.~hello everybody, I'm NEW

Re: Air Conditioning gone wack
your a/c needs enough pressure to turn the compressor on.
this is done with high and low switches.your compressor may be seized,(noise) or the accumulator could have a leak. to find the leak, follow the a/c lines and look for road dirt sticking to the component;from oil in the system. |

Im assuming its the duratec V6? Check back behind the upper intake manifold and youll see some vacuum lines for the EGR, AC, etc. Make sure all those are properly connected.
