Hesitation start.
I went to my car today to start it and it started fine when I turned to key, but this time the car didn't even rev up high. It was hesitation and I had the feeling the car was going to stall becuase the car was also shaking a little. Then I saw smoke infront of me but it was coming from my exhaust so I went out and saw a thickish fog of white smoke coming out wiht a strong gas smell. I then went back to the car and it was still in the very low rpm, so I try to give it gas to rev around the 2k area but nothing happened when I gave it gas, so I floored it and still nothing. Then soon the car started to react to the gas and rev'd as I wished. Everything then seem to be okay. Oil temp is fine, oil pressure, gas pressure, and gas guage all fine. I wonder if this is a boost leak...but I doubt it since I didn't hear anything when driving and I didn't see blue smoke so that's a good thing. Anyone know what happened to my car? I'm going to go out tomorrow again and see if it does the same thing. Any help would be highly appreciated!

Re: Hesitation start.
you might have a leak somewhere. i would check all your fuel lines. when you say you saw smoke in front of you and the noticed it was coming from your exhaust, do you mean it was coming somewhere from the exhaust system in front of you?

Re: Hesitation start.
No, I meant the smoke just flowed to the front from the exhaust tip pipe.

Re: Hesitation start.
ohhhhh, okay. then i don't think it is some kind of leak. since your smoke had the smell of fuel, there is a few reasons, 1)malfunctioning fuel injectors 2)stuck throttle bodies (not enough air so there is a strong fuel/air mixture) 3)bad ignition (not burning all the fuel). these are just ideas. anybody else?

Re: Hesitation start.
I was thinking those too, just needed more ideas. I think the F/A mixture was off for the moment. Could it also be my spark plugs?

Re: Hesitation start.
yeah, spark plugs are included in my ignition reason. what i would do, is if she is doing it again, listen for the little clicks and make sure they are constant. each coil makes a little clicking noise everytime it fires. but sometimes it is hard to tell.

Re: Hesitation start.
Alright thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to check for that later today. Does local stores sell the NGK spark plugs? Like Murry or Autozone?
