If you ring up the main DaimlerChrysler/Mercedes Benz headquarters and give them an earful then they will usually manage to "find" one from somewhere. They will have them, but just might need a little "persuasion" to give it to you, or at the very least tell you where you can get one.
Try searching for "Haynes Workshop Manuals". I have no idea if they are in the US, but they are very good manuals over here in the UK. Sorry but i dont know of their website if they even have one.
