Isuzu random missfire plus os2 sensor bank one sensor one switched to lean
Hello,
I have a 98 isuzu rodeo and recently had a clucth and slave and master cylinder installed. The problem that I was having before I took it to have a clutch put in it was the peddle went to the floor. They told me they had to drop the transmission also. I sometimes get a os2 sensor bank one sensor one switched to lean code p1133 and other times no. Also I have gotten a p300 random missfire. They tried new plugs and new coils plus they replaced the intake manifold gasket still no luck. Any ideas would really help. The os2 sensor has also been replaced the front one on the passenger side. Also my car feels like it has no power and will sometimes idle rough. This never happened before I had the clutch put in. Oh also the did bypass the a/c compressor with a special belt because they said it was locking up. I told them to bypass it because I couldnt afford the compressor now. they said that they ran it until it was smoking. I took it to someone else. to replace the other parts still no luck yet. It ran like a champ. Thanks so much for your replys. |

I would say the intake manafold gasket, but you replaced that already.
Have you cleaned your EGR/EGR port? How old is the battery? Alt on the way out? Isuzu will do strange things if the charging system is weak. -Ryan

Reply to Amigo-2k!.........
Hello and thanks for your reply your info helps alot of people. I did take the egr off and clean it and the port to. Maybe I didn;t clean the port well enough? I used throttle body cleaner. Also I did mention the people at the first shop did run the a/c compressor until it was causing problems with the belt they said it was smoking and also it was so noisy I had to take it back to them because the a/c pully was wobbling. do you think it could have cause damage to my alternator and that would make it send a o2sensor or missfire code?
Thanks! |

I'm having the exact same problem now. Same error codes also. It's in the dealer now. They say it's the intake manifold gasket. This is the 3rd one in 76,500 miles It's a 98 rodeo 4x4. Jerry

Try to use a higher grade fuel and use ISO-HEET water remove in every full tank of gas. Every oil change put some fuel injector cleaner. We have encountered Check Engine Light problems when using a lowest fuel grade and most are emission related error code.

Re: Isuzu random missfire plus os2 sensor bank one sensor one switched to lean
$280 later i have my truck back. the gasket has been updated. don't have exact part number. i called isuzu customer service, raised hell, they opened me a case #. service manager is to meet with zone rep. he decides if i get reimbersed by isuzu corp. if i loose my argument there is always small claims court. i can't imagine loosing there. dealer seems to be on my side. they know i have a good argument. we'll see! jerry

Yes, there is a new updated part number for the intake manifold gaskets. The lowers ar ethe ones that go bad and there are two of them.
When you replaced your intake manifold "gasket" did you really mean to say gaskets? If not I'd venture a guess as that is the problem. Bank one is the passenger side and bank two is of course the drivers side. Hope this helps, Joe |
