2003 mild accelleration surging

Hello, I have a 2003 Galant with 32000 miles. I have noticed since I purchased at 28000 miles that under light accelleration there is a mild surge while getting up to speed. Full throttle and heavy throttle are fine. The surge seems barely noticeable when the motor is warmed up.
I want to clear out any warranty issues prior to my 36000 clock.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so, what are your symptoms? What was done to fix? Is this just the nature of the beast?

Thanks, Inman

Super light at low acceleration and nothing at heavy acceleration or even passed its second gear. I havnt had a chance to take it into the dealership yet but i am going to next week. I will let you know what they say.

Thanks! Has it done this since you got it? Mine was previously a rental also. I wonder if it is simply their computer programming for the engine (poorly mapped) or if it is indicative of a sensor starting to go. You descbrided the symptoms just as I see them. Let me know.

So, RJToocool - what happened when you went to the dealership for the issue?

Problem solved

Hey sorry ittook so long. I work hella crazy in the summer and it finally cooled off. MAF sensor problem. Along with breakdown of Factory Tranny fluid. Filter was somewhat dirty. They did all of that under warranty..
Total cost out of pocket.= $0.00 nice.. hope this helps.

Yes it was completely noticable. They did say that if it came back then it was a "belt adjustment" i believe . in the tranny.. Nothing so far. Its been a week.
