Not sure how much is truth and how much is conjecture but Intense allegedly copied DHP's code. For my $200+, I'd get the DHP just in case. If Intense did in fact copy DHP's code they may not be able to offer comprehensive support after the sale.

Not trying to imply that Intense is guilty but why take a chance? Although...................the Intense is $50 cheaper. Hmmmmmmm......

DHP

Dont really care for Intense's business practices and everything else they sell is overpriced. Plus when u ask DHP a question you will be talking to the guys that actually wrote the code not a middle man.

The DHP offers things that Intense dose not currently. But that is not to say that they don't offer the services needed to upgrade if needed. They are both good peices of equipement. They are both upgradable. They just aproach the same problem differently.

that post was just... full of purpose..... id go with the dhp they know much more about what theyre talking about and if you ever want to make more radical modds to your car in the future, they could offer you more help reprogramming the chip again or chosing the right parts/modds for the chip

SO far I have been finding out one negative fact that the dhp will down shift into first at 39 MPH as opposed to the intense doing it up to 35. Just sounds like more hih rpm stress on the transmission.

DHP has been doing it longer, but I think Intense has done there homework. The thing I noticed about the Intense PCM was the abscence of the skip-shift feature. Power from both PCMs comes on smooth and strong. DHP is more of a specialized item, but Intense is shooting for everyman/McDonalds/mass appeal type thing. I say what I say as I own one of each PCM's. Both for the L36. One for the GP, and one for the Bonneville. With basic mods you don't need to upgrade. If I do a cam, I would need to ship the PCM back anyway regardless of who did my PCM. again it is a mater of taste.

Re: DHP or Intense for GT 3.8

actualy if you want to insdtall a bigger cam i would go with intense b/c the sell 4 diff programs.

Standard pcm - exhaust, intake, pulley(gtp)
Stage 1 pcm - above and mild aftermarket cam
Stage 2 pcm - above and medium aftermarket cam
Stage 3 pcm - above and larger aftermarket cam

all of these programs cost the same, ~170, so this whould be the cheapest way, however, as long as you are spending 1,600 dollars on a new cam, you might want to spring for the dhp, pay a little more, and get a better programmed chip from them (you would have to talk to them about upgrading the program for your larger, more extreme cams or head porting, etc. You can also wait for dhp to come out with its new upgrading "system", they will also offer multiple programs, and generous discounts for those who already own a v1.0.

...hmmm, feels like i forgot something else...
