Hi there,
Looking for some help on a variety of issues with my car. I recently had to replace my alternator, and either as a result of the bad alternator, or from attempting to jump the car, a power surge went through the system and has wreaked havoc to several components. The A/C, starter, radio, and keyless entry were all affected. I've replaced the module for the A/C and the starter but there are still problems. Here it is:
- The A/C - it now works, but does not seem as powerful on lower levels as before. Is this something that can be adjusted?
- The radio - it appears that the radio is functioning fine. The lights work, the channels change, but no sound. From what I've gathered, it's possible that the amp blew a fuse. I've located the amp in my trunk but cannot easily see a fuse for it. Do I need to open the amp up? How else can I test to see which component (the head unit or the amp) is having the trouble?
- The keyless entry - the code to enter the car works fine, but I cannot use the locking code (hitting the 7-8 and 9-0 keys simultaneously). Any ideas?
- Interior Issues: As is common for this car, the arm rests on the front doors are cracked. Other than buying an after-market cap, are there any alternatives? Additionally - the front dash cover is cracked - I'm assuming replacement will be pretty hard, correct?
- Steering Wheel - the wheel works fine, but after many years of use it has ripped and the hole is getting worse. Any ideas on how to repair?
Thanks very much - any help will be greatly appreciated!
