Re: Tamiya Carerra GT completed pictures!

Looks like they've done a better job with the mesh on the engine cover than I expected. That looks hot... whos gonna have the first one finished and on AF then?

Re: Tamiya Carerra GT completed pictures!

It says that the interior is molded piece by piece for easier painting and almost no masking.

Judging by the pics from the instruction sheet here

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/inde...no=&Typ1_c=102

they are doing it by decaling a cler part.

And the spoiler can not be moved - you can build wo different positions.

Re: Tamiya Carerra GT completed pictures!

wow thanks campenr.1

tamiya got some pretty damn good idea for this kit : different molding in the interior to mak painting easier, calipers arent molded on the pad disc (i hate painting calipers like that !) and it gos on and on. and it's pretty cheap on there !? listed at 25 bucks US, theres no way this kit could be sold at this price...

Good job Tamiya !

Yeah the brakes are gonna look a hell of lot better. For some reason though I thought the doors could be opened. I won't be making it till some form of Detail set appears (hopefully SMS) so I'll probably open the doors and boot.

Interesting note: I ordered mine along with some Gunze Sprays and some Aoshima wheels andthe total came to LESS than what I'd pay for the Porsche on its own here in England. For example the Enzo works out at £13 from HLJ but it is £31.99 here in the UK!!!

God bless the net!

Cheers

Agree on the prices. I pre-ordered the Enzo from HLJ when it first cam out. Got it for less than half the standard UK price, and about two months before it hit the shelves over here. I would have done the same with the Carrera, but I've got way to many other models to get done first.

Re: Tamiya Carerra GT completed pictures!

too bad the brake disk can't rotate.

Is it the first kit that has female rims in Tamiya kit??
