CAI for P10 or P11? ANYONE HAVE PICTURES?

I am curious as to how to put a CAI into a p10

Anyone have any pictures of the whole thing installed? I'd like to know how hard it was to cut the hole down to the area behind the bumper and what exactly did you use?

home made stuff from home depot (a do it yourself store for the house)? (heard of someone doing this)

if needed, I can put the battery into the trunk to make room for the CAI pipe- but I'd like to see if it's possible w/o doing that. trunk is full of stuff already... golf clubs/ cd changer/ fire extinguisher/amps...

any thoughts??

Go to "General". Look for the NW first meet pics. Go through link and click on pics in left corner. My P10 has a CAI from Place Racing Inc. I used the template, traced, drilled holes around circle and cut in between holes with dremel tool and course discs. Applied supplied grommett and hooked it all up. Removing everything was more of a bitch than installing.

nis.k.a- very very cool intake...

can you tell me what kind of difference you felt? heard? saw?

also- I liked your screen- very cool...

how much does an intake like that run? (i have a 93.5 and the intake pipe that the filter leads into looks a lot closer to the battery than the distance that your pipe extends. but i'm sure the price isn't that big of a difference)

*i've been toying with the idea of getting pipe from home depot and routing some air in SPECIAL GHETTO style...*

thanks for the picture and the tips

Your engine is the set up the same as mine. With my CAI, I had to remove the battery cover and lower plastic tray to make the pipe fit. I also had to turn the battery a little. Of course, all this could be solved by getting a smaller battery as the one I have is stock. The piping is big, so th most difference is mid-high end. I like it a lot because my car kind of has a sleeper style to it. So when I drive around, not a lot is heard until I really get on it. My CAI doesn't have the hollow sound that most engine located, thin pipe intake systems do. I love it though. Living in WA., since t's cold most of the time, the pipes are really cold to the touch if you pop the hood after running around. Felt a difference; well that's kinda hard to say for just the CAI as my cousin and I installed EVERYTHING (except cams) from engine mods to suspension in one day. I can tell you my car was totally transformed though....and yes it was substantially faster.
