Re: oil changing pump

Go to any boat marina or boat service garage. They sell hand operated oil change pumps, good ones, too.
All those inboard and stern drive boat engines cannot have their oil changed with a conventional drain plug. Almost all have it sucked out by a pump often through the dipstick tube.

Question

The larger of those two pumps mentioned is also available from JCWhitney but for twice the price. Go figure... I just purchased a PELA 6000 Oil Extractor online. Long-used in the boat industry and research reveals that many BMW and other vehicles w/o drain plugs are using them to do oil changes more often than the factory recommended 7500 miles. I think it will be great for regular and partial ATX and power steering changes.
