Yeah... You have to remember that Fords are not made to last. Honda's are. Be happy they weigh in good. Its one healthy car!

I think AcesHigh said his '93 with a H22 swap weighed low 2700's with him in it plus half a tank of gas. If you ask me, that's Integra territory. At least, the last gen of Integra's were in the high 2600's from what I remember. I might be wrong here... maybe it was a dream

Re: Do Prelude's Really Weight TOO MUCH?

hey i was angry and confused at first too but, after test driving an mx6(was deciding on the two) im glad at how heavy ludes are. the craftsmanship is pure quality, like the door, its not flimsy like eclipses and mx6s. when your in a lude you can tell its just overall made much much better.

Re: Do Prelude's Really Weight TOO MUCH?

Only the 5th gens are tanks

Yes, 2720ish lbs. I have done no weight reduction at all (even the spare is in my trunk). I call the BS flag on anyone who calls a 4th gen overweight. Eclipses weigh in at a healthy 3200lbs, and nobody says anything about that. Obviously we weigh more than a GSR, but we also don't only have 170hp.

Much of the weight in a 4th gen comes from sound deadening material. Alot of it also comes from the luxuries we have in our cars: ABS, Cruise Control, Power Steering, Moonroofs, A/C, power everything. If you really wanted an all out Prelude you can choose to remove these things, but I certainly wouldn't.

My only complaint is that alot of weight is in the front, causing tenacious understeer.

Re: Do Prelude's Really Weight TOO MUCH?

O.K. 3rd Gen's Teg's only weight 2,500 coupe's..sedans weight 2,600 plus...also Ecplise have Turbo and actually weight less then a 4th or 5th Gen Prelude...2,700 plus (hardtops)...but I agree with "Kang114" a Lude those feel much much better then those other car's...

my 3rd gen only weighs about 2500ibs, which is cool, it feels really light weight too. of course with a stock 133hp, and ofter a 160,000 miles its a hell of a lot slower than any 4th or 5th gen

I've seen one of the brochures for a late Integra and it was well over 2600.
