|
how to turn off emission light on z3?
The little icon that looks like an engine just came on in my z3. I checked the gas cap and it was loose. I've tightened it, but the darn light remains on. Any ideas on how to turn it off? Thanks

Stop by a BMW shop or take it for a long 'gentle' ride to complete a couple of OBDII 'drive cycles' and the lamp should go off, though it will store the fault [if that was the cause]

Check engine light
You can buy an OBDII scanner and reseter for less than $200 at most auto parts stores. Some are better than others, so do some research. You will get a code giving you the source of the problem, and reset the light after the fix. It'll pay for itself with trpis to the dealer.
