95 Max (4th Gen) - Fuel Cleaner Suggestions
Folks,
What is the best and safest fuel cleaner to use? I hear folks swear by a multi-purpose product called Seafoam (sp?), some swear by BG products, others with Chevn Techron Concentrate, etc. Any suggestions on these and other products? How about frequency of use? Can one use such cleaners every tankful, one a month, one every 3 mo, 6 mo, or a year? |

Re: 95 Max (4th Gen) - Fuel Cleaner Suggestions
I would highly recomend the fuel filter to be changed at least once a year or every 12,000 miles. Thats just me. Its very inexpensive and very i mean very easy to change. I have used fuel and injector cleaners for long time and havent notice any diffrence in performance wise. I think its just waste of money.

Re: 95 Max (4th Gen) - Fuel Cleaner Suggestions
i agree with turk...unless your injectors are dirty, thus making a lil poorer performance, dont even bother with the fuel cleaners...they are just a waste of money...and if ur injectors are dirty, i'd use one bottle of the fuel cleaner, and if that doesn't get them clean, take them to get cleaned

95 Max (4th Gen) - Fuel Cleaner & Filter Replacement Query
Ok, thanks, got that Fuel Cleaners are otherwise just a waste of time & $ so I've bought a new Fuel Filter.
Here's the problem. THe intake hose on bottom of filter has the clamp screwhead facing the firewall (Freakin Manufacturers). The exit hose on top has the clamp screwhead facing towards front of engine. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get to the bottom clamp screw that holds the supply hose onto the Fuel Filter without making this an all day affair? The Filter slips off the bracket "C" clamp easily, but, I don't think there is enough play on the bottom supply hose to let me turn it up to get to the clamp screw. Nearby are the Brake Booster hardlines making it more challenging to manuever around in the small area. Any helpful suggestions are surely appreciated. Thanks all!! |
