alt output

Hey all,

Lights on, a/c on, radio on, auxillary lights on, what does your alt guage read? I think my alt is heading south, slow crank and low alt guage, one mark above the 9.

Don't rely on Factory gauges. Have it tested with a good VAT machine.

What shape is battery in/how old is it?

Check terminals? Ground connections? Belt? Tensioner?

Never rule out the obvious...

Had it checked today, it all tested good, 13.94 volts under heavy load, 1094 CA, 914 CCA on the battery, I did unhook the alternator and hook it back up, hoping to rule out the bad connection. Guess it worked, I hear the tensioner chirping a little bit, I can always tell the wife is home because of it. I have replaced all the cables, both positive and the negative, new battery (according to the used car puke), i guess it is a fluke, but I am still going to pay attention to it.
