more problems

i also forgot that it doesnt start on the first try, it cranks good but usually takes two or more trys to start it. i had the fuel regulator checked and they said it was good and it drives good when running so i dont think its a fuel pump? also when i turn or go into driveways or even take off quick the front end is making some noise kind of like, not sure how to explain it though

Re: 1996 blazer with a couple of problems!!!!!

Welcome to the forums.
First off, you have to give this board some time. Most replys come slowly.

The wipers may be the motor, or those relays. The way to check is just get a couple of wires and run them off your battery or a spare battery. On the side of the relay it should have a pin out that shows the location of the coil. You will see the common and normally open and closed contacts illustrated as well. Put power directly on the coil, pay attention to polarity! These are dc relays and may blow if connected backwards.

If the coil pulls in, you will here some kind of clicking as you touch the positive wire with the negative connected. If you dont here this noise and you are sure you are connecting it right, the relay is bad. If you do here this noise, get a ohm meter and make sure the contacts are opening and closing according to the drawing.

My blazer had some trouble starting when I got it also. I changed the fuel filter and havent had any problem since.

If you want more information or need specifcs on the relay testing e-mail me and I will do what I can to send you in the right direction.

Also I have the Chilton manual for the blazer so I may be able to get some more information for you there.

Good luck
Joules.

Your wiper problem can be solved with this: http://www.1aauto.com/1A/WiperMotors...P1880507/22071

This is the circuit board in the wiper motor itself. Located on the driver side firewall. Had the same problem final got this replacement part not a problem since..

Wiper problems

My 97 Blazer also has problems with the wipers not working on some occasions. However, I did receive a recall notice from Chevy about the wipers. You might want to check to see if your blazer falls in the recall.

This wasn't a recall, but a "special policy #02054" issued by Chevy in Feb. '03. It expired Feb. '04, as I found out April of this year. The policy was for 1997 Chevy and GM trucks that were less than 7 years old or less than 70,000 miles. I contacted Chevy customer service to see if there was an extension to the policy, but they kindly told me to get lost, they're not responsible for misplaced mail notices I never received.

The front end noise sounds like a possible ball joint failure. Sharp turns or bumps that cause a metalic grinding noise are a good indicator. If you only hear the noise upon accelleration, it would be an indicator of CV/Universal joint failures. Either way, jack-up the front end and look for worn-out boots on the upper and lower ball joints and CV boots, and play/travel in the joints.

I found the recall and special policy notices on the NHTSA website.
You can do a search of all complaints and recalls there for any vehicle.

How did we go from wipers to CV joints. Also, I am aware of the so called service bulletin of the front suspension but we or I was talking about the wiper problem. As for the wiper recall I mentioned check into TSB (General Recall) # 02054
Beside my notice you can find the notice posted here.
