what to do?

Ive recently asked questions about AWd because im thinking of going with the GSX model for the eclipse i have had a GS for a couple of years. I was gonna upgrade it but i was thinking that I could mod a GSX.
But I got a couple of questions: the GSx comes with a turbo, could i add a supercharger to the GSX and keep the turbo? Would a supercharged GS possibly beat a stock GSX?

People have been saying the AWD is better, but i saw online that the GS-T and the GSX models have about the same 0-60 time, the GS-T does it in 6.4 secs and the GSX in 6.5 secs.(same year) Im confused!

Re: what to do?

oh there is alot of stuff u dont know let me try to straighten some stuff out.
I have or had a GSX it is a all wheel drive turbo charged car.it has a 4g63 motor (stronger)
the GS is a non-turbo it has a 420A moter(weaker)
the GS-T has a 4g63 turbo but is only front wheel drive.

Yes u can mod a GSX (look at the one I had)

No u cannot put a super charger and a turbo on the same car it would defeat the purpose , a super charger is constant boost, a turbo can make greater HP and Boost than a supercharger but only if u have a strong motor like the 4g63 and dose not have constant boost.

yes the AWD is better ,better traction and is better when moving ,but the GS-t can get off the line faster because of only 2 wheels contacting the ground there fore u can apply more power with out loosing control

hope that answers your questions ,if i explained somthing wrong or whatnot please correct me

well for starters, both the GST and GSX have all 4 wheels in contact with the ground. You can do anything to any car, but a super turbo charged car isnt worht the money. I love AWD over FWD because of the better launch from a stop. But the FWD has an upper hand from a roll

I think you meant that the other way around. The 2 wheel contact thing makes no sense, but off the line an awd will kill a fwd because you are transfering the power through all four wheels. not only that but when a car accellerates all the weight is transfered to the rear of the car, making the front end light. In a fwd it means your powerd tires are light, thus making it even easier for them to spin.
Once you get over the problem of transfering power to the ground, and hit 3rd gear where tire spin is no longer a problem (unless you have like 400 horsepower) the fwd will slowly start overtaking the awd because it is lighter, giving it a better power to weight ratio. The awd also has more centrifugal weight to push (I know there is about a one in a million chance i spelled that correctly but phonics should do the job for now) the whole time the awd is spinning a transfer case, drive shaft, differential, 2 extra axles, plus wheels and tires

Re: what to do?

at higher speeds the gst would eventually overtake the gsx because of weight.

Re: what to do?

i never specified distance. I just said eventually the gst will make up the lost ground due to weight difference.

Re: what to do?

you got a point. but is the weight to power ratio enough to overcome the distance before the govener kicks in?

Re: what to do?

a kid could launch an AWD. FWD GS-T's have a hard time getting a launch just perfect; I nearly always end up with SEVERE tire-hop if I'm not carefull. Your launch determines a lot. I did a VERY stupid launch with 6 seconds of outrageously loud wheel-hop and screeching the other day against a 02 Celica. Needless to say I got served. I might have even broken something, heard a loud cling clang. Cant wait to get a GSX differential and trnsfer case... $5000 though huh,....
