I'm thinkin about getting rid of my rims here within a few months and getting some new ones after I save up some money. I'm gonna be going to 16" rims (instead of 17"). They're 16x7 with a 40mm offset. And I'm probably gonna be getting 205/45/16 tires with them. Main question I have is the offset, 40mm is the correct offset, right?

And also...for people with 16's right now, what size of tires are you guys using. Thanks for your guys' help, in advance.

i have 16's. i'm pretty sure they are 40mm offset. my tires are 205/40/16's.

you can switch tires all you want. but GOD FORBID....DO NOT FORGET TO ARMORAL YOUR MUDFLAPS

I'm thinking about taking them off becuase I don't want to forget about this again and get a ticket next time, lol.

you want something with a +40 offset or higher (42,44,etc) or else you might scrape tire and fenders..

i use 205-40-16 on my 16's cause thats what the tire size calculator said would not throw off my speedo.

205/40/16s with +40mm offset never rubbed for me. +38 rubs.

Cuz I know with my 205/40/17 with a 40mm offset my tires dont rub (about 1.5" drop) So I'm thinkin with one inch less of rim, I could move up to a 45 series tire and still be good. Thats what the guys at Les Schwab said today would be a good size probably.

Cuz I was just curious what size of tires people were using on here. And I wasn't sure about the offset, I didn't ask them that.

Inside joke...It happened at the May 21st meet in Klamath Falls, OR. Ami and T-diddy raced and the 4 cars behind them got pulled over, including me (the last one...we were all doing the speed limit, at least i was). Well 2 cops got my info and then got me outta my car and i was scared shitless, and this is what he said "your car is nice and clean, looks good, but u need to armor-all your mud flaps, because those just don't look right". He told all of us to be careful and let us go.

That was sooooo funny. I wish I could share in the events happening next weekend (boohoo for me) oh well getting the car to pass smog is more important right now. Oh ya back to the subject 205/40/R16 is the tire size rims are 40mm offset.
