Suggestions on an amp
Hey, if you guys have any suggestions on an amp, let me know. I am looking for a good quality amp at a fair price to put out anywhere from 1800-2400 watts RMS.

Re: Suggestions on an amp
Do you realize how much 1800-2400 watts is?
Do you have about 500 dollars? that is how much you are looking at spending for a cheap one.

I'm aware of the power, it's either 1 big one or 3 small ones to power each sub, I prefer 1 big one.

2 big ones? for 500 will give you 2400... cheapest power I can find that sounds good... What are you using this to power? people hit around 160+ with that kind of power to 2 subs, about 1000 each

I'm trying to power 3 S12L7's close to full potential. They're 750RMS peak each, i wanna get them around 600 RMS each. If I get 2 amps won't I have to wire it where the ohm load will be raised thus causing the amp to be less efficient? I thought it would be better to get 1 huge amp or 3 smaller amps, 1 to each sub, that way you can lower the ohm load of the amp, am I wrong?

Re: Suggestions on an amp
You know what kind of ohm load you would get on one amp... something really weird like 1.33... but you would probably want 3 amps

Cool, I look around at those. I wanna make it hard on the inside, right now it seems to be loud, but most of the sound seems to be trapped in the trunk. I dynamated and removed a plastic piece that was behind my back armrest. This helped a little bit, but not like what I was expecting. Could my sound troubles be because my subs are in a custom sealed box? Should I consider going ported? Or is it the lack of power from my one amp(MTX 8001)?

Re: Suggestions on an amp
Well actually if you had the money I would go with one Tru power amp and keep it sealed. With 3 subs, you need to keep all the quality you can get...

A friend of mine recommended these amps: Earthquake PHD5000W, AutoTek MX 3000.1, Planet Audio VX2200D, Power Acoustik A3000DB, SPL Z1X3000D, Cadence ZRS-10
Anybody heard of these? Are they any good? |
