Question Duralube oil treatment... good or bad?

just wanted know. Does it live up to its claims? Is there anything better?

It's a scam. Them, ProLong, Slick50, ZMax, and a bunch of others were sued for making false claims. They don't do anything.

Buy a good oil for your car, don't buy any addetives, all you need is in the oil.

Urban myth or not, if they were so terrific, the major oil companies would sell them as part of their oil, and not leave it to a bunch of small companies.
The major oil companies already have supeior oils - synthetics.

Many of these oil treatments are the same thing with different brand names sold by the same companies like Petrolon. Many of them also contains the same thing that normal oil does but in a larger quantity, and more doesn't equals better. There is also a risk that these oil treatments might react with the addetive package in the oil. Some of these treatments also contains solids or other type of addetives that is claimed to "coat" the engine. Experts all agree on that this is impossible and some of these addetives like Teflon may also increase wear or harm your engine.
