Re: 94 XR7 question

ccf

for the seat coushion - push back about 12 inches in from the door post and lift up.

There are bolts under the back coushion - remove them and lift up

94 XR7 electrical 12FL question

94 Mercury Cougar XR7 V8
I have an electrical problem that comes and goes. But it is a really big problem. High power fuse 12FL 40A keeps blowing. This disables the powerlocks, trunk button, fuel door button, a/c, hot hair, brake lights, hazards, radio, cigarette lighter. I can not figure why it does this I had to do some re-wiring for the brake-lights to work. But I need this thing to stop blowing fuses. I figure this would be a simple look at all the components that wire to this fuse, but I can't find them except the radio. Any idea's?

Re: 94 XR7 question

Removing door panel:

I just did this today. There is one screw, and its hidden. Where the button are on the door for the window and locks is a section of the door that simply pulls out from the bottom of it. The piece is like a bubble, and is a different color than the rest of the door panel. When pulling from the bottom left side, it will snap out, pull it towards the engine because of the door lock handle. Once you get this off, it will hang with the wires. Now you should see the screw and a plate with another wire harnessed to it. Now use a 4 point screw driver and remove screw. The rest of the panel can be removed by lifting up on the door handle, not lock handle. Go slow as you might remove the bracket on top. It does simply come off and on, but if it falls it could damage the window on the way down.
