Unhappy '97 Tahoe Crazy Wipers - No recall?

Hi all. I have a 97 Tahoe that the wipers seem to be going crazy. I have read through previous posts here and others seem to be having the same problem. I thought there was a recall on the wiper motor but the dealer is telling me no. Does anyone have info on this?

Thanks so much!

I don't think it's a recall but a 'Customer Awareness' sort of thing.

Wiper motor circuit boards go bad. Very common.

GM part number 12463090.

Re: '97 Tahoe Crazy Wipers - No recall?

Thanks for your input. I spoke directly with GM yesterday and it was explained that there was indeed a problem with the motor assembly at least on the 97. There was not enough problems to initiate a "Recall" so they put forward a "Special Policy" which is the same as a recall to replace the motor at no charge - However - The SP expired 2/04 so if you did not have the problem before then youre out of luck.
