Exclamation lt1 headers?

im fixing to get a set of headers and y-pipe for my 94 lt1. i was wondering if anyone has had any problems with the way the car runs after installing these parts. and someone told me the service enginse soon light would come on and i wouldn't be able to pass inspection.

i think they are full of b.s. but thats why im asking you guys. shouldn't the car run fine (no service engine soon light) as long as the headers have egr and o2 fittings? let me know and if anybody can suggest a brand with the best bang for the buck i'd appreciate it. im trying to spend under 300 bucks.

thanks fellazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

you shouldn't have any problems at all w/ SES light coming on as long as all the sensors are still in place, and as long as u still have a good cat you won't fail smog. whoever told u that about headers has no clue...

now the best brand, i'm not sure but i've heard alot of good things about slp. but also if you go w/ slp, don't get the ceramic coated, i heard slp doesn't coat headers very good.

You will not have any probs, but you may want to order an LT4 knock Module so that the PCM does nto think the extra noise is knock. No matter where you get the headers, You always want them coated. Even if they do a crummy job it is better then uncoated headers.

Personally, I would not get any headers EXCEPT long tubes! I bought Shorties when I bought mine and kicked myself in the ass ever since.

Re: lt1 headers?

totally agree with deadcarny on this one. do what he says and you'll be good. i got my headers uncoated for my 3.4, two months later i had take em back out and clean em up so i could coat them with something before they rusted through...
