2001 blazer remote receiver

I need to find the receiver for my keyless remote receiver so that I can buy the proper keyless remote transmitter. According to Chevrolet, there were 2 transmitter/receiver installed that year and I need to get the 8 digit code from it.
I own a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer LS 2 door 4x4. I need to know where it is located in the car.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Paul

I had a similar experience with my 2001 Olds Alero that I recently purchased. Bought it used with no info available on whether or not it had RKE. Called dealer and gave them VIN and they looked it up and said yes it has RKE, but there were 2 types used that year. One type is part of the BCM (body control module) and the other has its own receiver. He was able to tell me exactly where the receiver was located. If I were you, I would call them back and ask if their parts computers can't also give the location.

Forgot to mention this, you probably already know, but on eBay and even at the local salvage yard, they sell the stock factory remotes for peanuts.
