Airbag light sometimes stays on

My 2000 Venture airbag light sometimes stays on and other times it's off. Do I have to take it to the stealership?

Thanks!

check the cable connections under the driver's seat. Mine had a loose cable and now is OK.

In my case it was a dirty cable under the driver's seat. I bought a spry in KMart to clean electric wires and also protect them, about $2 and worked great. I disconnected the airbag cables and cleaned them up and no more problems. Buy a Haynes manual, you get all the wire diagrams and colors, so you'll know exactly wich ones are the ones for the airbag. Good luck.....

O.K. just a warning here..I do not recommend that do it yourselfers try working on SIR systems.
This is a safety system that can activate when terminals are probed or crossed and can cause severe injury or death...also, the system may not operate as designed in a collision because of improper service procedures.

Airbag Light

The module is under the passenger seat correct? Is there another connector under the carpet on the drivers sside besides the ones that are under the seat?
