Whats a Good tint %

Hey guys; I'm getting annoyed of my car getting hot in the sun and just figured it's time to get tints anyway. I got a PA registration which means I can do pretty much anything all around, so no legal concerns. The car is white BTW (as in sig).

What's a good % to tint the windows; my freind got 95% tints (5% light in) on his car but I feel thats a bit too dark for night driving. So what do you guys suggest I tint my

honestly it depends what you really want. For a white car i would probably go with 20%, it'll lighten up a little with the sun but not to the point that it feels like you don't have tinted windows anymore. Plus they aren't that dark at night. The only time you may have trouble seeing is at night in the rain... other then that you'll adjust

where'd you get the registration thing? I live in pa as well and was looking into doing the same thing, seeing as i don't have a/c.

wait, you need some sort of special registration to tint ur windows in PA? Thats dumb cuz they sell tint at every auto parts ive ever been to here. Also, ive always been under the impression that there wasnt a whole lot you could do with a car in PA.

No I mean registration as in which state your car is registered, and insured in. This determines which state's laws your car falls under and which state's juristiction your car is under.

In PA there is nothing governing tints (that I know of); you can have all around tints as dark as you like, as one of my aquantances does.

Now, here's an intresting loophole; I live and go to college in NY; but my parents; who this car is registered under live in PA (ergo the PA title/registration/(cheap!)insurance)

If I was to say, replace my cat converter with strait piping I can't be ticketed for in it NY; and I only have to worry about passing inspection in PA; which does not require new cars to have emmissions done.

... so um ... anyone in the NYC area know where I can get strait plain 'ol pipe welded to my exaust?

On the otherhand (as I found out the hard way) I cannot purchse, aquire, and transport fireworks in PA, but people from N/NJ (anyother state) can as long as their licences and cars are from out of state; regardless of how illegal those fireworks are in that state.

You mean like rallye on the windy, scenic, dirt or paved roads; or hit your rpm limiter (130mph) on the empty, strait, clean paved highways (I80, I180 <3)

But if you mean the strickness of laws PA is like this: you can do w/e you like more or less; but if you break one of the relatively few laws; they come down on you hard and heavy.

Gotta love PA for the illegal fireworks.... nothing beat going over the border just to buy some... hehehe. Honestly i'll never understand Pa for stuff like that though, some things they totally look the other way, on others they make it such a big deal as if you are commiting a crime, go figure it's PA. I have to say you are somewhat lucky though since you have cheaper insurance and you can have you windows tinted all the way around... without penalty.

So I got the all around 80% tints (except windsheild) tints. They're great; just where I want them considering the amount of driving at night and in rain that I do. Warning: the tints dont take too well to the top of the back window; where there is that dot pattern (the top 3 inches) because the film sticks to the dots and not the glas in between; so u have to smooth it in over the 3 days it takes to dry.

congrats, you'll enjoy them, especially since you can see people and they can't see you! You won't have many problems at night or in the rain, you'll just notice that the windows will seem extra darker. ONe good thing about them at night is now the idiots that drive around with there highbeams on since one of the lowbeams are out, won't bother you nearly as much!
