99 Silverado Piston Slap?
I was thinking of trading in the rig I have now for a 99 Silverado ext. It is a 5.3L and I have heard a lot of things about piston slap problems.(www.pistonslap.com) Has anyone heard of this or have it?
Any help? thanks Luke |

Re: 99 Silverado Piston Slap?
Hi Luke, its a frequent problem with the 99'-02' Silverados, Do a search through past silverado pages, you will find many threads about this topic.
If I remember right there was a thread /Engine detonating or knocking\. My 99' makes a slight rapping at startup and once warm it goes away. -Jimmy

I have had a little bit of a knock noise coming from my engine when it is cold. I ran a can of MOA its called from GM at my last oil change and the noise has since gone away. I was told that its a newer product that replaces EOS also from GM
