its preferable to have a car with a rear wheel drivetrain. without this, the best you can hope for is a rather clunky four wheel plow with a front drivetrain. a good thing to keep in mind is the price of parts for the car in question....any motor sport is hard on a car. it all depends on A. knowing what you do and dont know...B. doing some research to find out what you actually are interested in C. having a realistic budget and plan...and finally D. try not to kill yourself....or me when you decide that you want to try some stupid shit on the road initial d style or somthing.

Re: New to this whole thing
A: Sell your worthless vehicle that is only wasting your money
B: Buy a Datsun B210 or a Dodge Dart or some other simple, reliable, rear wheel drive car that you can fix yourself with the tools your mom has. C: Buy the book "How to make your car handle" by Fred Puhn D: Leave Automotive forums and come back in a year to see how stupid and inexperienced everyone is.
