knock sensor....new rebuild
okay i've got about 700 miles on my h22a fully rebuit engine and when i went to pick up the car from the shop he told my check engine light comes on due to "knock sensor" failure....the check engine light isn't always on but when it does come on it stays on until you shut the car off...when it comes on the car start running real crappy and slow....what do i do

what year is your lude? i highly doubt it's a faulty knock sensor. those rarely if ever break. if you have OBDII, i would recommend doing the OBD workaround. you'll never get rid of that CEL as long as your engine is that modified. when the CEL is lit, your ecu puts your car in 'limp mode'. it's the car's way of telling you something ain't right and will keep doin it til it's fixed so it doesn't run in optimal shape. it's a safety precaution. damn OBDII. so if you're car is post '96, go for the OBD workaround.

my car and h22a usdm are both 93...i've heard from 2 different people everytime you pull the motor to do something the knock sensor usually gets messed????

well try changing out the knock sensor. I replaced mine and my engine check light shut off

same problem here...after the timebelt fxxx up on the way home...had 10 values bent...the mechanic told me i gotta change the knob sensor...gonna do that this Tue....we'll see how it goes....btw..the car still runs good tho...no big problems...

i bought a knock sensor off ebay, the seller stated that it would fit
any B, D, or H series motor, but the guy who tried putting it on my car said it won't fit (everyone selling knock sensors on ebay say they fit all honda engines) bull or not????? |
