Re: Confused 95 t bird

It is no fun at all. You can expect it to take all day if you have never done it before. You will be able to do it quicker after you have already done it.

Your heater core took a dump, the part cost actually from the dealer like $30 -$35.00.If you plan to do it yourself to save you a surprise you would have to remove the a/c core to get to the heater core .that would mean removing the freon and then charging it when you are done. Many mechanic hate working on this problem the cost is between 500.00 and 600.00 because before getting to the cores they have to remove the instrument panel and console. It happend to me 4 years ago and i paid $500.00, now it happend to me again and i just by passed it for now.iF its dripping just a little be careful it my get worse and the steam will come out of the vents andthe smell will make you get an upset stomach.

hehe, this is a pretty old post jerry. I hope he's fixed it by now, or maybe he died from the fumes. We may never know...

Re: Confused 95 t bird

I changed mine without removing the AC, but it requires all the dash and components to be removed. Even the steering components.
BUY OEM. I bought a replacement part and it DOES NOT HEAT WELL. The aftermarket heater core is worth nothing and I have to change it if I want adequate heat. They are correct It's a 500$ job especially with the liability of rmoving so many items from the car.

Good luck

Re: Confused 95 t bird

If your good you can go in just through the passenger side. If it's your first time I doubt you will be able to do it this way though.
