my '84 blazer

my buddy inherited a '87 s10 from his cousin its got the 5spd mt and a 2.5 liter 4 bangger. his had a blown haed gasket. now my '84 blazer has been sittin around for about 10 years with some thing wrong with it my stepdad dont know whats wrong and his dad dont know whats wrong. i cant decide wether to try and fix it or to go and buy a new engine and trans. either way it'll be a beast when its done.gimme some suggestions and ill take them into consideration.

Well if it's a 2 wheel drive it would probably be fun dropping in a mild 400 small block. drop it 2 - 4 inches, and if you can afford it a Richmond 5 speed transmission. It would go like stink. (a friend of mine has a car with that combo) The 10 Bolt rear end would have to be either built, or replaced with a Ford 9", with a locker.

If it's 4x4 just drop in a good motor, mild lift, 33 - 35" tires and build everything strong.
