Possible vacation emergency

The family and I are heading on vacation at the earliest tomorrow night (Wednesday night 7-21) I was just working on my 2000 Sable I had the battery unhooked and then decided to change the windshield wipers. the hood is down and the battery is disconnected.

Help. I don't know how to pop the hood. the grill latch seems useless. The wife will throw a fit because we HAVE to go see her little brother.

Please send suggestions.
