Vin Decoder

Thanks for that, however I already knew it was a 1965 Chevelle/Malibu and that it was built in Freemont, CA. Maybe I should have re-phrased the question... Is there any way to tell what size engine the car came with from just the Vin numbers?
Thanks

Vin

VIN's can tell if it was a Super Sport, Chevelle 300/DElux , Straight 6 or 8 Cyl. the plant where made, and the body number.

6 : CYL CARS
131, 133,135,137 (SS),133

8 Bangers

132,134, 136,138 (SS),

Protecto plates will have the engine actual numbers on it.

So a non SS V8 was numbered 132, 134, 136
& the SS V8 was numbered 138 ?
Or were all those numbers SS's ?

137's and 138's were Super Sports. The 137's had a straight 6, and the 138's had a V8, sorry for the confusion.
