Key stuck!
I drove my 96' Sunfire SE to my work and back with no problems, but when I got home I couldn't take my key out of the ignition. It's stuck on the first switch. Its automatic and I tried putting it back in drive and then park again but no fix. Any quick solutions because my car is sitting outside with the keys in it, and it starts up fine. HELP!

Re: Key stuck!
Try starting the car, putting it in neutral then back to park.
Try taking the key out of the car when you have it in neutral. Some times you just have to charm the key a little. |

also check the trigger on your shifter. in pontiacs if its not disengaged you cant take the key out of the ignition, and pontiacs do sometimes have a problem with the trigger getting stuck. sometimes i really wish they had put more money into quality than quanity.

Key stuck
Sometimes in automatics, the shifter cable gets a little "off" and the car still thinks that it's in gear. Try jiggling the shifter back and forth in the park position and see if that works. If it does, you need to get the cable adjusted as soon as possible because it can get even more out of adjustment and you won't get the key out at all. Some locksmiths who do auto work in your area might be able to do this for you for sometimes less than the dealer.
