Question A/C Pressure

I had my 92 grand converted to R134 last year. Had to recharge once. Now the A/C is weak again so I bought a pressure gauge and it was reading low. Checked again yesterday before adding R134 and the pressure was 65 and in the "danger" range. Can anyone tell me why this might happen? Should I/how can I release some pressure? Please help, it's HOT out there!

Thanks!

Re: A/C Pressure

The pressure is variable with the ambient temp of the system (with system off). The system should be checked with the fan on high and set for max cooling. Make sure your compressor is not cycling.

The A/C was on with the fan on high. The compressor was cycling frequently, what does this indicate?

Thanks!

Usually the compressor will cycle on and off when the system pressure is too low or too high. I think the low side should be around 15lbs and the high side should be around 150lbs, while the compressor is actually spinning.
